Rebel Town Pizza: Serving Up Smiles, One Slice at a Time

Nov 15, 2024

Firing up the Fun

We’ve always had a love affair with pizza, and it’s that passion that gave birth to Rebel Town Pizza. What started as a fun project in our farmhouse garden over a decade ago has grown into an exciting journey we never could have imagined.

It all began with a handmade wood-fired oven we built to share pizzas with friends. Being the adventurous types, we made the oven portable so we could take it wherever life led us. After a few memorable pizza parties, the requests started rolling in—“Can you cater my birthday?” “How about my wedding?” Before we knew it, we were in business!

Our first major event was the Colyford Medieval Goose Fayre, where we hand-rolled and served 100 pizzas in just a few hours. It was an exhilarating challenge and a clear signal: if we wanted to take this seriously, we needed to level up.

Building a Dream

The next step was to upgrade our setup. We built a lighter wood-fired oven mounted on an old horse box for easier transportation and invested in an electric dough roller to handle the growing demand. We also started applying to local festivals, eager to share our craft with a wider audience.

By the following summer, we were catering weddings and festivals, discovering just how much people love fresh, wood-fired pizza. Our interactive setup quickly became a crowd favourite. Festival goers loved watching their pizzas come to life—from dough spinning to flames dancing in the oven. The fire itself was often the star of the show, sparking conversations and drawing crowds.

Local Roots, Big Flavour

From day one, we’ve been committed to sourcing locally whenever possible. Even our logs come from a local estate, kiln-dried for maximum efficiency and sustainability. Cooking with these logs enhances the flavour of our pizzas in a way that’s hard to describe but impossible to forget.

Our menu reflects the same commitment to quality. From classics like the Margherita to unique creations like Billy the Kid and the Festival Special, we aim to cater to all taste buds. Every pizza is made fresh to order and can be customised to suit the preferences of any hungry festival goer.

Growing Together

Since those early days, Rebel Town Pizza has grown in every way. We’ve catered countless festivals, met amazing people, and refined our craft. Our setup is more efficient, and our pizzas are tastier than ever. We’ve come a long way from that first oven in the garden, and we couldn’t be more excited about the future.

Here’s to more festivals, more adventures, and—of course—more delicious pizza. We can’t wait to serve you in 2025!
